Updating figures and ds

I noticed today that in my smart content tab under G3 and G8 figures starter essentials there is a tag that says “new”. Has there been a recent update? I remember doing this but does the starter essentials update regularly?

Also are there any updates to DS itself. My friend says he keeps his DS updated to the latest build

New means that the product has been reinstalled, or that you've grouped it as new. If you open and click on All Files you can enter Group::new in the filter field to see which, if any, files have been changed (assuming you had un-Newed them previously).
