Body Chains 2 for G3+8F - how good is autofit on males?
could someone who just bought Body Chains 2 for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s) - and maybe, while we're at it, the 3 similar products from Sshodan? - please try them on G3M and G8M and upload snapshots?
i really like those chain products, but i never use females. and while most outfits containing normal clothes usually fit ok with autofit + possibly some clone thingy addon, or when hair really doesn't autofit i can parent it and the results are usually ok, i can obviously not parent a chain outfit. and while some distorsions in a clothing item might still be acceptable, it would look awful with only chains... especially since very thin mesh elements like straps or chains often distort when used with other figures... also, most clone thingy addons still haven't been issued for crossgender figures.
for emergency case i have the free transgender morph to use GF as a guy, but since i have no other morphs (yet) for G3F/G8F, my "male" looks quite meh, and also i have no anatomical elements (yet) to stick on a female (and then comes the material creating, again, like for male figures sold without genmats...)
of course, if anyone created something just like that for males, they'd have a buyer... *winking & nudging like mad*

There might be a problem that you lose the movements, because as far as I know, the chains come with bones for posing. Those will be lost in autofit.
Do you by any chance own this product? https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-cross-figure-resource-kit
If you do, then Sickleyield has a tutorial (pdf and video) on how to make it work from G8F to G8M, which allows you to use garments without losing the bones.
hmm no, i don't have it. i thought it was for creators only. i only have UV swapper G3+G8 for textures/mats and the free trangender morphs for basic figure shaping as crossgender tools, but no specific crossgender fitting tool. only Fit control G3M+G8M and Wear them all G3M... so i thought i was covered. but i'm gonna look into this one closer, thank you! ^^. THO, about the G8-ing of it... while i know Sickle's tutos are excellent, i'm not very gifted for transfers etc, and at my best, already not very focused - now i've been under extreme stress for months, my focus span would make a gnat pee itself from laughter ~
yeah, that's the kind of issue i'd be expecting, hence my humble OP demand if someone could try it on their males - if possible posed somehow, not standing zeroed - and upload images ^^
I don't have those ones, but I do have these https://www.daz3d.com/body-chains-for-genesis-3-and-genesis-8-female-s
and they don't look to bad on GM8, then again I guess it depends on what morphs you have.
ah, thanks a lot! ^^ - looks quite good imho, i expected worse distorsions... and if that's right out of the box without any fit addons or anything.. i think it's worth a try. i appreciate your effort, @FSMCDesigns :D
as to everybody else, keep'em coming! (the pictures) ^^
yep, straight out of the box. I figured I would go straigjht to my fav male morph which is fairly far from the base shape to see how much it distorted and I was happily surprised. I figure in the set you linked to the ones that drape off the arm might distort more since they are meant to be free flowing and not fitted, but the rest should do well.
yeah, i noticed the body shape in your render is nicely formed, not as neutral as base GM8, which means autofollow or whatsname replacing it seems to go well. i don't use supermuscular shapes like brute-ish etc, more fit Asian guys and/or rather androgynous/feminine dudes = no muscle bulges, at the maximum like what you rendered here so i hope no big surprise here. i'll examine the different sets closer, AFAIR the older ones are more divided between body parts while the newer ones pack stuff together, not sure any more ~
