GoZ Question

What is the common denominator on why when I use GoZ to ZBrush to adjust something (like fitting a saddle to a creature it wasn’t made for or making a adjustment to a character's body) some times on the return to DAZ it ask if I want to make a morph and other times it only lets me create a new object/model? I want the option for a morph so the textures etc will still apply in DAZ.
Comments
It will offer to create a morph only if you sent the item over at base resolution, and did not add or remove any geometry in ZBrush.
I did as you said and GoZ did ask me if I want to make a morph, which was great - thanks. But for some unknown reason, I can’t find the morph of my saddle back in DAZ. I tried saving it in the Group Path of: ZBrush, Morphs, General Transitions, etc. But Its not there. And I know it doesn’t have anything to do with the resolution since the saddle started at the Base Resolution. What am I doing wrong? Where is it?
BTW: I was able to modify the original mesh - so I was able to save the modified saddle in DAZ. But I would rather of had the morph.
Are you looking for the morph in the Parameters pane? The other panes are filtered by type, so may miss a morph if it isn't set to Modifier/Shape.
Yes, I am looking for the morph in the Parameter pane. I thought in the past, if I left it set to Group Path: ZBrush, it would be visible at the bottom of the Parameters list - It wasn't. I even opened every item in the Parameters pane just incase it was in one of those, but it wasn’t there either. This puzzles me. That’s why I then tried saving it to the Group paths of: Morphs, General Transitions, etc. So I would know which heading/folder it should be in - nope! Not there either.
On a second note: As I said earlier, I had to choose the option to “Update the base mesh” to get the ZBrush morphs to apply to the saddle. You can imagine my frustration when I later reopened my saved (DAZ) dinosaur and saddle and saw that the morphs didn’t hold. I guess there is one more step I must do to lock in the changes. Grrrrr. Now I have to start all over again.
Update base mesh changes the default shape, it doesn't add a morph.
My mistake for using the word “Morph” (in my "On a second note”) when I updated the basemesh. I will rephrase: You can imagine my frustration when I later reopened my saved (DAZ) dinosaur and saddle and saw that the changed saddle BASEMESH didn’t hold, e.g. the saddle no longer fit the dinosaur.
I guess there is one more step I must do to lock in the changes. Do I need to save the saddle as an Support asset> Figure/Prop and then re-add it to my scene to make it hold?
The modified mesh should be stored in the scene, but there can be issues over morphs that haven't been saved as assets (they work on the base but don't project into clothing - there was a note in the chnage log this week that may be related to that) - so I suppose it may also be that unsaved modifications to base mesh may have problems.
Richard, do you know if this will remain so or be changed in a later update?
I don't know what is happening, so I can't really offer any meaningful guess. The reference to the morph issue was just a very tentative "well, I suppose it could be related to this"
