EllessarrEllessarr Posts: 1,395

ok i have a question, i'm already started to buy some stuffs from here to plans to use in a game i'm making, and i know which i need the interactive licence for that (already got some of them and planning get the others later), my question toward it is if i can make a "character using the let's say genesis 8+plus morphs(making a unique character) then use here some skins and cloths if i having all the licences i can also later try to sell that character let's say in stores like epic store??? or i can only use the characters for game???, i'm talking about selling a custom made character (using some assets from here with all the right licenses), i'm allowed to sell that character??? or i can only use it in game??? with the interactive license?

The interactive license does not give you the rights to redistribute Daz assets in a Commercial venture other than as specified in the Addendum for the license.  Turning Das assets into a Commercial product, such as a character, is still not allowed  as the interactive licenses do not supercede the standard EULA,  but just add some extras which cover games and other interactive stuff.

    Interactive License:
Standard License Agreement vs. Interactive License:
The Standard License Agreement for content purchased on the Daz 3D website allows you to do some really neat stuff. A few of those things are:
    • 1- Render out images
    • 2- Render out videos
    • 3- Render out an HDRI or Virtual Reality scene
Any of these you render out are completely owned by you. You can use them, sell them, modify them, pretty much whatever you want. This is allowed by the End User License Agreement (EULA) because what you are delivering to the end consumer is not the actual 3D content, but a render of it.
    If however,
You want to create an experience where someone can alter what is happening, such as an application or a video game that changes depending on what the user does, then such things will generally require access to information about the 3D assets so that it can move them around, alter them, and generally manipulate them to change the user experience.
This would not be covered under the standard EULA and would require that you purchase an Interactive License for any of the content that you are using in this way. As a note: not all content offers an Interactive License option. This is a choice that the creators of each piece of content have and can choose to offer or not.
To read the full legal rights under the EULA. Additionally, the legal details of the Interactive License Addendum (as well as any Game Developer licenses you may have purchased in the past) is covered in section 3.0 of the EULA.
Unless otherwise specified, no discounts or offers will apply to Interactive Licenses, and these licenses are not eligible for returns or refunds.

hmm then basically i can only use then outside render, in games right??? aslong it's a game then i can use the assets right(with the interactive licence), another question sometimes i've found some products without a interactive licence, you need to pay the standart price without the license, like some "extra morphs" which only have the default price and no interactive license, if i use that stuffs into my game it is a problem or i can use it???, how things works on that cases fopr game develop??

    anyway thanks for the answer.

The text shown for the intereactiver license does state

This means that these creators do not want their products used in games.

hmm thanks for the answers, another question for the ones which i can use, i need to add "credits" to the creators of the assets in my game or i can use it free without need to give credits or royalts or any other thing??? by having buying the interactive license i have full free use of the asset inside the game without have to pay any other extra or give any sort of credit right???.

srry for that questions but when reading the license that things not sounded too direct as i wanted, justing trying to make sure i can use the things here in my game without any "sort of suprise" later.

Again really thanks for the answers and patient and srry for too many questions.

As long as you have purchased the Interactive license, then you are good to use it in your "commercial" game without any credits, etc.. make sure it is a full commercial game and not a game mod or a free game as that is not allowed.

interesting, lol that's funny a free game is not allowed?? not even the microtransactions ones like fortnite, where the game it's free but you can sell "cosmetic" and even power ups, armors, weapons and bla bla bla the famous pay to win??

You certainly can't use it for Game Mods on existing games,   but I will check  on that about "free" games    I will get back to you on that.

OK,   Getting back to you on this
As far as we can tell there is nothing that says you cannot use products purchased with an interactive license in Free games
As long as the content is protected from extraction from the game, and is part of the base game not an in-game purchase for real money or equivalent

hmm this means which i can't use then to make "dlcs" like cosmetics and things like that, aka fortnite style (battleroyale games style)? to sell, they can be used only in the original base game?? no dlc or any extra game stuff?

another question now that is toward "bundles", if i buy a bundle and the bundle license, i'm also automatically can get the license for all the stuffs too by buying the bundle license or i also need to buy each asset license in order to use all the stuffs in the bundle?

you are being really helpfull, i was thinking in giving up using the stuffs here because i was a little confuse about the EULA but now i'm more fine.

You may be better to have a chat with CS yourself,   to make 100% certain,  but it does appear to be one price fopr the bundle interactive license

Contact CS here    https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new   ; using Sales support as the dept,  and explain what it is you are wanting to do.

No DLC for OTHER games. You may use them for YOUR GAMES and your games alone.

The interactive licence tells you what asset it is for.
