So which G2F bundle should I buy?

If you could only buy one of the V6, Gia 6 or Girl 6 bundles, which would it be?

hmm that would all depend V6 normal female, Gia Butch Female or cartoon type female so depends on what type of renders you like.. :)

None of them. Buy the G2F morph pack bundle instead. That is far, FAR more versatile.

If you like the look of V6/Gia/G6, then by all means, buy whichever one you like the look of. But they are just characters now, you get a baked head/body morph and a skin with custom UV and that's about it for each of them. You could make an argument for buying V6 just to get the V6 UV, as some third party skins have been created for it. But you can largely get by without it.

Interesting... I was also looking at the morph pack. It's certainly a lot cheaper (and you don't get a whole whack of clothes and stuff that you probably won't use). Regarding the different UVs, do they diverge enough that, for example, a Girl 6 texture would look horrible on the base G2F?

A Girl6 skin that actually uses the G6 UV will be unusable on G2F if you don't have the G6 UV mapping file installed, and that only comes with G6, of course. However, most of the 'alternate' UVs get completely ignored by third-party skin vendors. So far, the bulk of G2F skins have been V5-based, since that makes them also usable on Genesis. Some are G2Fbase, and then a smattering have used the V6 UV. I haven't seen any use the Gia or G6 UV other than launch package skins. This is the same phenomenon with Genesis; the bulk of skins for Genesis use the V4 UV, as that has the widest market and is also usable on V4 in addition to Genesis.

It depends on what type of characters you like to render. I find I use v6/gia the most.

    My "G2F Bundle"

    G2F
    G2F Head and Body Morphs
V4 for G2F (important as it includes the V4 body shape for autofit and the UV map for using any skin map based on V4 UV map)
    G2F Head Resource Kits I & II
    Hand Details for G2F
    Premium Portrait Poses
    Growing Up for G2F

I have most of those, now, but I do wish DAZ would start offering similar bundle options like that. I honestly think they would be shocked at how such options would increase sales for them.

...I agree. I've been able to do a heck of a lot with G2F and I don't have any of the Gen6 characters.

I wish there was a skins pack for G2F. The only one available is for Vicky6 and you need the V6 UV map to use them.

Thanks for the info everyone. I got the G2F Head and Body Morphs, and that Dial-a-Girl (LOL) thing that should make them a little simpler to use.

I think I'll wait for the inevitable 50% sales to get a bundle. I couldn't find enough useful stuff in any of them to warrant even their current sale price. Sigh. I wish you could make your own bundle. That would be cool.

...they did that once as a promotion. Would be nice if they would do it again. I'd rather have resource kits, morphs, poses, and hair than say a bunch of skimp/sci-fi/fantasy wear and characters I'd never use.

The old Pro Bundles (Gen4) use to include more stuff like that.

I have most of the Bundles now, but I picked up several with coupons from the PA sale. And I do find myself liking G2F even more than G1, but I have plenty of uses for both, especially since it's easier to use Gen 4 skins directly on Genesis.
