Swam's Octavia Hair Remake for Genesis 8

It would be great if we could get a G8 version for Swam's Octavia Hair. It's one of my favorite hairstyles to date.

As a workaround you can just load the hair (without selecting the character) and then manually adjust position and scale to fit your character, then parent the Hair to the character's head. Of course you will lose any automatic pose adjustment of the tails.

You may want to pick up https://www.daz3d.com/hair-converter-from-genesis-3-female-to-genesis-8-female

Not only will it work for Octavia, but your other Genesis 3 hair.

Genesis 3 and 8 are really close cousins, especially for hair where the differences there are between those generations (T to A pose, foot bones etc.) don't have an impact. So converting hair from G3 to G8 is really easy:

    • Load your G8F figure
    • Load your G3 hair with no figure selected, so it doesn't get autofitted to the figure
    • Select the hair
    • Go to Edit > Object > Scene Identification... in the menu
    • The last line in the dialog is "Preferred base" and it will say "/Genesis 3/Female." Click on the [...] button and choose Genesis 8 > Female instead.
    • Click Accept. You've now told Daz that this hair was made for G8F instead of G3F.
    • Fit the hair to the G8F figure. It just works like any other G8F hair.

I wouldn't suggest trying this approach to fit hairs between any other generations of figure (though I suppose there's no harm in trying if you want to),  but between G3 and G8 it seems to work fine.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

I had no idea about that feature. Thanks for sharing.  It worked like a charm. I tried using autofit with the the hair, but it just doesn't work well, but this definitley did the trick.

Also the g3 to g8 hair convertor works well on this one.

I got it from this post by the ever-helpful Sickleyield:
