Could Not Open...

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hi thanks for taking the time to help me with this problem. I keep getting an error upon opening the genesis 8 female...'Could Not Open.../people/genesis 8 female/genesis 8 basic female.duf. All my daz files are on an external harddrive so the path should be f:/content/people/genesis 8 female/genesis 8 basic female.duf , correct? You'll need to explain to me like I am amatuer, I even redownloaded the g8 starter essentials pack so it should work.

    How did you install? If you find Genesis 8 Starter Essentials in the products tab of the Smart Content pane what, if any, icon does it have at top-right of the thumbnail?

    Is F:/content registered as a content directory in DS?

    I installed it to F (external HD) so the path I installed it too is F: daz 3d/studio/my library/content/  as for the smart pane under genesis 8 female it has the blue thumbnail. I attached the error log and screen shot of the smart pane.

    So the file is actually where Smart Content thinks it is on your drive? (so F:/daz 3d/studio/my library/content/People/Genesis 8/genesis 8 basic female.duf )

    Because all the log says it that it can't find the file, and since other content seems to work I assume the directories are setup correctly...

    And in your first post you said the path was f:/content/people/genesis 8 female/genesis 8 basic female.duf

    i checked the file path in the content dir its under Daz Studio formats...F:/daz3d/studio/my library/content/

    correct. Genesis 3 works so its just a problem with 8

     You fixed it Leana, thank you. The problem was the path you have /people/genesis8/ its right there at the genesis 8, when it installs whether through the installer or manual it wants to put the files in /people/genesis 8 female/genesis 8 basic female.duf
