Did I break it? Or is this just how it is?

I had to do a clean install of windows and I figured I would set up new Content Library, all of it put into categories to my liking. This is my first time doing this.
I started of using Studio a year ago and I have being using the Smart content Library. I never thought about the other ways content could be set up. Until I got my hands on tutorial about the other ways it can be done.
So! I used the DIM and dumped the whole works into a file on my harddrive called My Daz Studio Library. All of the content is Studio files.
But!!!... "What a mess!" And what a mistake that was!
So my question is? Can I manully sort these files out, into a correct Studio filing system. Or will this break Studio in some way or form? I know its not correct, because there is double files with incorrect spellings, there is even "My Library within My Library's. There is even a few Poser Library's in there too. And on top of tha,t to my understanding, there is old DAZ "Content" files too.
I know from using the Smart Library, and 3rd party zips files, content is normally is put into a user files and that seems to work just excellent. My bought 3rd party files are in perfect order to what I have read and understand.
Any ideas, anyone? Can I manully set up/sort the files or do I live with this mess form using DIM and work around it?

DIM should have installed correctly - that's what it is for. I won't say there are no products with errors, but by now they should be in the minority. Anyway, if you are using Windows you can select teh contents of any unneeded extra folders (such as a "Content" folder), cut, and paste into the My Daz Studio Library folder - say yes when asked if you want to merge the folders and everything should be slotted into place.
Thanks Richard!
Thats what I was hoping someone would say. I was going to experiment, and I also was going to go through each busted file's product index reference page and look at its stated file placement. I am sure I will get this right. I know how to do third party zips, so I feel confident I can clean this mess up. The DIM may not be able to uninstall some of the products after, but all in all, I can live with that.
I can't live with messy files!
Thanks for dropping some " I know how" in!
