recent new PCs

So, i recently basically completely overhauled my PC, pretty much only part that carried over is my harddrive. And not wanting to immediately bog down my essentially new PC with all the old crap on my harddrive i reset my harddrive but kept all my files, so i have all of my installed content still on my harddrive but not DAZ, how exactly do i go about making DAZ properly read from those files again? i thought i figured it out but apparently not. More than likely im overlooking something simple any help would be appreciated.

There are essentially two places where you need to specify the locations of your content library. Within DAZ Studio itself, your Content Management Service (CMS) must be told the location of your library, both for DAZ Studio format content and Poser format content, if that is different from the default locations used by DAZ Studio when it is installed. The latter will be the case unless you specied otherwise during the installation, if your content library is on a separate storage drive.. To set this you need to open DAZ Studio, click on Edit > Preferences > Content Directory Manager. In the resultant dialogue, you need to expand the trees (little plus sign) for both the DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats. Edit the resulting paths to the correct ones for the location of your content library (i.e. D:\My Content Library). Accept.

The second thing you need to do, if you are using the Daz Install Manager (DIM), is to open DIM and edit the paths shown there to the correct location of your content library. Open DAZ Install Manager (its a separate application). Click the little gear icon in the upper right corner of the window and open the Installation tab. Edit the path to that of the location of your content folder.
