Scene Optimizer and Missing Files

Hello Folks!

I’ve come into a bit of an issue with a series of renders I was working on. I had begun working on them on my laptop and then transferred everything over to my desktop to render properly. The only problem is the series is saying “Missing files” and it’s not giving me the option to reconnect the missing layers/objects from the scene optimization that I did on my laptop. Further, my laptop seems to use / and my desktop uses \ to designate file paths, so I can’t just mimic the path (or can I somehow? I’m out of my technical depth).

Is there a way to connect the missing layers/files on the new computer? Have I gobbed up the entire series?

here is the scene optimized as a note: https://www.daz3d.com/scene-optimizer

DS uses / internally (which works on both Windows and Macs) as \ is the "escape" character in strings (used to add special characters- e.g. \t is tab). Just copy the files from the laptop to the equivalent location on the desktop and I would expect it to work.

I do it all the times. I just copy the "my library" folder around and everything works fine. I also have two different OSs, win8 on the laptop and win10 on the desktop. No issues here.

I only use manual install though, because it is much easier to control. I don't know if DIM may use absolute paths. In this case you should have the same drive letter and user name in both pcs. As for daz connect I guess you have to re-download the assets you need ?
