Soooo hoping for the converter from V4! I have dozens of great V4 hairs in my library already, and there are even more I have wishlisted because it's generally a pain to properly fit them on G3/G8 and didn't purchase yet because I practically never use V4.

We are getting there. If sales keep doing well enough, we will go back to v4/m4.

Between all the DAZ clearance sales and items picked on the cheap during Rendo's big sales, I have literally HUNDREDs of V4 hairs. I would gladly pay for a V3/A3 hair converter as well. :)

That would be up to Sickleyield. I definitely don't have ANY V3/A3 stuff!
So, some hairs are not being recognized as hairs at all, for example, Georgina Hair for Genesis, or any of the Pure Hairs. They are in *.duf format. Anyone else having these problems?
Edited to add: OK, I went to the Options tab and unchecked "Check Content Type When Adding Files" and that seems to work.

What does the log say?
You can turn off the content check and Add Files to the list.
I found that on those hairs when I ran the Genesis to G8M version yesterday, they still weren't recognised after unchecking Check Content Type, and added them with the Add Files. I am not on that computer at the moment, but I have a list of some of the ones it didn't recognise and can get the logs when I am later. There were duf files, dsf files (which is known about), and hr2 files (though I wasn't really expecting them - I forgot some Gen hair were hr2 files - Historical Curls for one)

And did you try and force convert?
The missed duf files wont even load in the list, says there was no Hair found when you try to add the file.

If you turned off Check Content File, the "Add Files" button will load *any* file. I think you must have tried Add Directory.

Thanks - I'll try again when I go onto that laptop, I was pretty sure I'd tried all combinations, but...

Yeah, it is easy to miss a combination Please let me know.
Okay just checked again - from the logs it looks like the hair giving problems are saved as scene-subset, which is annoying :-(
I've attached a list of the Genesis hair that I've spotted that are not being detected automatically (hr2 and dsf understandably, duf - scene-subsets disappointingly) for your info if you want to experiement. I've more from Rendo (SAVs) not playing nice either.

Ok, the scene-subsets are definitely going to be ignored (who saves hair as a scene subset?!?). Unfortunately, I have none of your hr2 hairs to test on. PM me with your email address and we can try and work it out.
Never entered my head they would be scene-subset either, until I looked in the log. I guess it was early days of DS4 and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I wasn't expecting a fix for hr2, I guess they are a hang-over from M4/V4 as well, but if you get to M4/V4 they may crop up again. I'll send you a PM
and I will poke my nose in here and again suggest to load the ones that won't convert onto the original figure and re-save as a "Figure/prop asset /follower/Hair ... save into the original folder it should be a duf then try to convert .......sure it's an extra step but totally worth it
I will do Carrie. Found that the hr2 files all seemed to be made for M4 with a Genesis fit - I think they'll get converted with a M4-G8M converter - only need one copy for G8M afterall. The scene-subsets I'll have to do as you say.

@RiverSoftArt You are welcome ...... didn't look like a bug to me ......not enough legs ....
Thanks a lot - it will save me even more time on the conversion. I have started with .duf files first.
You're welcome!

Ditto. The switch from dsf to duf was one of the most poorly thought out

The fix for adding dsf files is in the Daz testing pipeline.

Thanks for the update, RiverSoftArt.
I have already converted some of the hair in .dsf format.

I like to hear that!
