18th-19th C Ship's Deck ??

I've been thinking of doing a render of some 18th or 19th Century sailors, lounging around on a ships deck. I can find lots of suitable clothes, cannons to lean on, etc, etc. - but what I've not been able to find is a suitable ship's upper-deck for them to lounge ON :(
Does anyone know of such a setting - a classic "Man-o War" of the Napoleonic period or there abouts ?

In the DAZ store I found:

    Skull Cove Pirate Ship http://www.daz3d.com/skull-cove-pirate-ship
    RobberKook Toon Boat http://www.daz3d.com/robberkook-toon-boat

And Rendo has Pirate Ship 2 (search the marketplace)

This is the one I prefer and comes ready for all DAZ 3D programs.

I thought I had a ship myself that was from DAZ, I do it is called HMS Victory, BUT I do NOT recommend it unless you just need a ship for far far FAR distance shots as once loaded the model seems unfinished, the cannons do not even have bores, the rigging does not have attach points, they just look like the modeler went eh that's good enough and then paid someone to approve it, I mean I realize that the model is years old, but come on.

An amazingly realistic re-creation of the tall ship HMS Victory it is NOT! I have looked up pictured of the actual HMS Victory and there are so many inaccuracies that it is kind of funny.

Even from the promo pictures I can tell that

Is a much better choice for something like you are looking for, Also for what I bought HMS Victory for as i had planned on making similar renders on a ship myself, but by the time that I got around to loading the model my 30 days were up so I could not return it. Lesson learned check your purchases within your 30 day window kids.

Really? I mean seriously? Do you have the same HMS Victory model that I have? Have you rendered it lately?

I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, Maybe I am missing something important when I look at it and try to render it myself but in my opinion that model would NOT get accepted at DAZ today.

I am trying to render this thing so that i can post a render of it for an example but this thing is almost impossible to render, it seems like no matter how many lights I use the thing sucks in all the light like a damned black hole.

I retexture it with shaders, I have a rather large collection of them. It's then DAZ Studio format. It was just a suggestion, I just like the detail.

I have used Licorne and like it. There are accessory sets as well if you want more deck clutter.

The included textures are alright, but I re-texture for mid to closeup shots.

Detail? This makes me wonder if we are thinking of the same model, Are you sure you don't have the Warroak Kitt or a different one? I don't think a texture change on this thing would make it that much better to be honest.

Any way you look at it this model is not good for close up renders, at best it is a distant ship coming over the horizon sort of thing.

(These are not rendered because I could not get enough light to show the areas i wanted to show easily enough without putting in so many lights that just the lights alone were causing even spot renders to take more than five minutes to render.) If someone can show me these areas well rendered and looking like "An amazingly realistic re-creation of the tall ship HMS Victory"I might change my tune, but I don't think that is possible. (Oh without remodeling and postwork and without re-texturing the whole thing.)

A couple I have done with Licorne

those are some damned nice renders. I might have to get that one myself.

I'll have a go with Genetica as it has a wood component. The decks would have been fairly pale as they were "holystoned" every day - that is rubbed with an abrasive stone. I read the late Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey and Maturin books and am from a long line of ship workers.#

Nor does it need to be - that isn't what the original poster asked for.

I saw the test shots you posted - none of them are of the above-deck areas, which is what the original poster did request. How does that part of the model look?

Um actually the first and third images ARE above decks. They are representative of the kind of lack of detail I find all over the model. That wheel looking thing that has more sides than an octagon, (not sure what to call it but it is NOT round) is supposed to be the ships wheel which is in the wrong place for the HMS Victory according to pictures I have seen.

My main point is that i was warning him away from this particular model as he said he wanted something for close ups which this model is not suitable for.

Thanks for the replies, Guys. But what I was mainly looking for was just the upper deck itself...I wasn't after the whole ship, if I could avoid it. But if I can't find the deck, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy the whole vessel. Of the ones available here, the most realistic ones seem to be those by Faveral. Only going by the screen shots posted here at Daz..the one most suitable for my purpose would seem to be the Medusa. Before I go and outlay almost $30 for maybe just one or two renders, could anyone here who actually has that model post a render of the deck ? Oh - btw - I'm still using Poser 9.

The last promo is a render of the Medusa's deck. It was rendered in Poser 6 so Poser 9 shouldn't be a problem.
