Hair taking up a lot of space

I am using "Greer Hair for Genesis 8 Female" [https://www.daz3d.com/greer-hair-for-genesis-8-females] on a G8M and it is taking up a huge amount of space. The saved file is 35M+ compared to other hair which is under 1M. Is this normal for this hair style? Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything that I can to reduce the amount of space that this resource uses when saving my scenes? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Did you add any custom morphs (imported as OBJ or spawned from dForms)?

I used Greer Hair on G8F and it didn't use a lot of space in the scene. Perhaps it is because you used it on G8M instead of the G8F it was designed for???

Ah, I'd missed that. Yes, if you convert it it's now not using the original geometry so, unless/until you save it as a new asset, the geometry gets embedded in the scene file.

Awesome! That happened to me before and I never figured out how to solve it. Thank you.

How do I save it as a new asset?

    File>Save as>Support Asset>Figure/Prop Asset

How do I then include this saved Prop Asset back into my scene?

Delete the one currently in the scene and load the one you saved

Part of the "save prop asset" procedure is specifying where in your Content Library you want to save the new .duf file. Create a new folder (if you don't already have a suitable one) preferably somewhere in People>Genesis 8 Female>Hair and point the save to that folder.

Note that the new file will not appear in Smart Content unless you create the content database entry for it.
