How to remove unwanted morphs

Hi,

I modeled some clothing items for distribution.

Used" SY Clothing Morpher for Genesis 8 Female" to add the morphs.

I added all of the morphs as I am still in the learning curve.

Now my data folder is very large so I would like to remove some of the unwanted morphs.

Can you tell me how to remove them or is there a utility to remove them?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

How do I delete the parameter dials?

You delete the .dsf files for the morphs, from /Data/You/Outfit/Piece/Morphs/You/ (where the You, Outfit, and Piece names will be the ones for the thing you are removing morphs from). Once the .dsf is gone the morph will no longer load or have a slider.

I 've been wondering what was in the Data folder

The data folder holds all the native asset files - the basic model, the rigging (if any), UV maps, morphs and other properties, and for soem figures things like AutoFit clones or projection templates. (The one in the Connect data directory will also hold all of the content installed through Connect - the install pane etc. inside DS.)

Sorry but I have a follow up on this. I saved a custom morph and for some inexplicable reason, well, inexplicable to me at least, if I remove or delete the one I made I'll get errors about it with entirely different characters. But if it's installed, I believe it's one of the many "duplicate formulas" that errors that I absolutely need to fix. So the question being, why is Daz referencing a file that I made that isn’t even being used in a new scene or with any random character?

Sounds as if there may be some reference to the removed asset file in another asset file that is still there, so all scenes and presets loading the base figure run into the issue and report it. What exactly is the error, have you retrieved the full text from the log (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File)?

Update - I am using Sudio 4.12 Pro using the Highway style format.  Right click on a morph item and check [Edit Mode].  Now right click on the item you want to delete.  Scroll down and press [Delete Slected Property].  And that it is it.  Don't forget to right click on any item in the menu and uncheck [Edit Mode].

I have tried both approaches mentioned above without success.  In my case I am trying to delete a projection (navel) morph from impacting clothing when it is fit.  Ideally I would like to stop it from being applied to any clothing because unless it is a wet t shirt or something, a navel morph, unlike a nipple morph, is likely not to be wanted - or at least that's what I am trying.  Any suggestions??

BTW, FWIW, I have found the morph in the content (data folder) for the character - but I don't want to remove it from the character. . .

winner. i was trying to replace an FBM with an updated version and simply deleting the old one didn't work, it kept showing a (2) next to the name whenever i tried to add the updated one under the original name (after a clean DS restart to clear anything left in memory)

deleting it in edit mode did the trick. thanks JoWa.
