New Install and download
Hi. I had to reinstall my OS Win 10 and DAZ. I download install manager and install DAz and SQL from there. Then, don't ask me why, I decided to start to install the rest of the product that I own directly from DAZ Smart Content pane. Now, they don't seem to show up in the same location I used to have them before. Will that cause me any problem afterward? Also Install Manager doesn't seem to be aware of the products I have already installed?! Should I install the products with Install Manager as well? And finally, not all my products are showing from the smart content pane as downloadable? Why? Sorry lot of question. Thanks. Luca

Connect and DIM use different locations (and mthods - Connect has a folder per product in the /Data/Cloud folder, Install manager amalgamates everything in the content directory). As long as the root content directory is selected and the foles are in their correct locations within that DS will be able to find them, and saved scenes or presets will work on another machine.
If you click the Download Filters button in Install Manager, on the Ready to Download tab, and uncheck Connect Installed at the end of the list you will not see the items awaiting download (that won't, however, hide entries in the ready to Install tab that haev already been downloaded).
Some content - e.g. ExP using figures such as Victoria 4 and Michael 4 - cannot currently be installed through Connect. Plug-ins, and some shadrs/scripts, are also not installed via Connect.
Hi, and thanks for the quick reply. Ok . . I have decided to use Smart Connect. For a start it does seem to me that products are organized in a better way and more accessible if I need to. I have some Renderosity products to install to. In the forum somebody suggested to make a separete folder and unzip the content in there. Where exactly should I make a Renderosity folder. Documents\DAZ3D\Studio\My Renderosity Library or deeper? And then, will they appear in the content library? Thanks.
If you use a different folder (and the one you suggest would be fine, as long as the Runtime and Data folders from the zip were in the My Renderosity Library folder) then you have to add it to the list of content directories - which you can do by right-click on the Daz Studio Formats/Poser Formats headings in Content Library.
