Subterran pool - lighting the pool?
Hello!
Is there a way to lit the pool like in the promo pic of this object? Unfortunately it comes without lamps in the pool, so I assume they are lit with point lights or something. I just wonder how.
I also wonder why there are no bulbs in the lamps mounted on the pillars. Now I'm lighting them using the shade, and that's not exactly as realisticly looking as if there'd been bulbs in them.

I should think the wall lights have point lights with their shape set to sphere inside them. The pool lights may be spot lights with a shape, or they may use IES profiles on lights.
I used it in this image but I'm not sure what lighting I used.

I'd forgotten I had this, so just opened it - the set loads with lights and for me, in Iray, rendrs pretty much as the previews without any adjustment.
When I loaded it out of the box it came completely unlit, so I had to begin from scratch and lighting up the ceiling lights and the lamps on the pillars and the walls, and it was then I noted that they lacked bulbs so you had to lit the shade instead. It wasn't half as nice as in the promo, where there seems to have been some extra prop added to the lamps.
Or perhaps the vendor forgot to include the bulbs and the lamps in the pool when packing the product?
I had a look and I used the Emissive setting on all the lights. For the wall lights I used the glass and added the Diffuse map to the colour setting for the Emissive.
I don't have the set, but I'm looking at the readme file now. Did you check in the Materials/Iray/ folder? It lists ceiling lights and another lamp. There could be a pool light material in there too.
The supplied environment loads with lights, theya re set up for iray and the point lights in the wall lamps are set to be spheres (which is what you see in the promo render and in my, very noisy, render above). Are you using 3Delight?
