I've changed to 3Delight from Iray because I needed special shadows, but now I have no dome environment.
Is there any way to get it back?

Wow!
None of the lights in my original scene are working now. How do I get that back as well?
I'm not much good with 3Delight questions, but I do know the answer to the second question.
When you set up the scene in Iray, any light you "Created," (from the menu, Create->New [light],) was set to Photometric by default. Select all of these lights in your scene and toggle Off the photometric setting. From there, you will need to tweak those lights to get the same results in 3DL as you had in Iray.
uberEnvironment handles HDRI lighting - it's in the Default Resources pack, along with the Iray shaders, so you should have it. It's settings are on the uberEnvironment node in the Scene, not in Render Settings.
What kind of lights? The basic distant/spot/point work in both - though they don't use the same properties (for 3delight brightness is adjusted via intensity, not the luminosity settings). Surface lights area aailable but you have to replace the Iray Uber Base shader with the uberArea shader.
Deleted. (It was silly, anyway.) I knew I'd heard about uberEnvironment, but know nothing about it. I'm so glad Richard showed up!
Thank you. I'm looking into it all now. . .
