If you start to save another pose it will open the dialogue to the last used location, which will tell you where to look (then cancel the save).

No no, I mean know where where it is... I just can't use it. It doesn't show up in poses, or anywhere BUT the file system

Here is what I suggest since I don't know how you're saving.

Since you're making a pose for Mei Lin and she is a character, I would go to her character folder, in that should be a pose folder. If there isn't one, you can right click on the Mei Lin character folder and create a sub-folder and name it "Poses" (this because if you purchase new pose sets for Mei Lin, it should be looking for this folder).

If you have an existing Poses folder, or have created one, right-click and create a new sub-folder and name it "My Poses" (or whatever you want. Once you do this, it should open a new empty section where you normally see icons for presets. With me so far?

At the bottom of this is a plus sign that when you click, reveals a list of types of presets you can save. Choose Pose and save your pose there. Now you should be able to find all the poses you make for Mei Lin.

So the poses I already have, despite the fact I know right where they are, cannot be used?

Have you looked in Content Library, under the path where you have saved your pose?

And if it isn't the default one, have you included that path so Studio know it has content.

you might need to search your computer for the name you gave the pose if you didn't notice where you were saving the pose. Do you remember where you saved to? did you save in the manner I descrbed or file > save as > pose?

I know where the file is on the computer, the same same place it supposed to be and where all other content is in Daz, the file pathes match. It's just missing even ones that used to be there are gone. I am going to have to email Daz about this.

Can you put the full path here, please? And which way did you save it?

I generally do not post my file structure in public places.. However I saved it by selecting Mei Lin 8 and choosing save as Pose (or Pose Preset, I can't remember the verbage) put it right in the same folder as the other ones and it finds none of them. it's non-standard because of drive space limitations on the SSD. But I have it built properly with the help of DAZ tech support. so it SHOULD be working fine. I didn't create any poses until after I had the structure set up properly (again with Daz Support's help).

Are you using the + button in the Content Library pane? If so how did you install - if through Connect, and you are in Daz Studio Formats>Daz Connect then that isn't a true folder (it's a composite of the various /Data/Cloud folders) and so saving to it will not work as expected.

I didn't install the post, I posed her myself and saved it.

But how was the figure installed? And how are you accessing the Save As list of filters?

  • CoryllonCoryllon Posts: 284

Figure was installed through install manager, the pose was stored by File > Save as > Pose Preset. in the Poses Preset folder

Was the location used in a content directory, not in the Data, Runtime, or Readme's folder?

I would have to check when I get home, but it's in the default location where Daz goes to save them; the same parent directory as my scenes, as in the poses preset folder is in the same parent directory up stream as the scenes folder
