Preview while rendering not showing up

So as the title says, i don't know what happened but today when i hit the render button, just asked me directly how the file should be named and started rendering. After a while i wanted to check how the render was going, but for my surprise, the preview windows did not opened. I have to wait for the render to end to check the picture and see how it went. Do you know why is this happening? I may be accidentally hitting some buttons or idk, but sopmehow that deactivated that preview window, not the viewport, but the windows that shows up WHILE rendering... i need help pls, i need that back.

    I think you have it set to render direct to file, in the Editor tab of Render Settings. Set it to render to a new window instead.

    Wow, it was set to new window already after i read your comment. I tested and that was the problem. However i did not touch the PC and did not altered ther setting after my first post. So the first render went well, as i described above, but now withought touching anything, went back to normal. WTF is going on ? Indeed the setting is "render target -> new window" ... but i haven't touched my pc at all while the first render (with hidden image) finished. Checked back and i see that now i can click render and it renders as normal as it was before, with preview window. Something is weird.
