How do people get this shine

Hi all. Let me start off by saying I'm not the smartest person in the world, so if someone can explain this to me like an idiot, I would be grateful
I've noticed some renders have a nice white glow/shine on the characters skin. This clothing product in particular really does is in an extreme way, but I think you get my point. How the heck does this happen? What are people doing/product used to have that shine/glow? Also, pretty much everything from the pose guys (Zed something), has that shine in every product they sell, in case you aren't sure what I"m talking about.
Any and all help is appreciated and please don't feel if you are insulting my intellligence by talking to me like a child. I am an idiot after all who needs stuff broken down. Thank you and have a happy Friday.

Glossiness and Glossy Roughness in the Surface Settings are two of the things that I can think of. You just left-click on the Surface Selector tool in the top middle-right toolbar and then left-click on the region of the skin you want to make the changes to(for skin, there's the face, ears, torso, arms, legs, and genitals(if you use them). Then left-click on the Surfaces tab that should be located somewhere to the right of the viewport. This should bring up a number of surface settings in the box on the right side. Just make sure to use the same settings for each area of the skin, or else you'll probably end up with seams where the textures meet.
More importantly, lighting & its settings/positioning probably played a major role in attaining that appearance as well in those renders.
