lttle help with decimator

hi guys,i'm using decimator to reduce the insane amount of polygons from hairs, but i'm aways ending getting stuck in a annoying problem which is the "scalp", have any way to only decimate the hair without affect the scalp???, because i use decimator it also affect the scalp and making it flick inside the model head, i would love to be able to decimate only the "hair itself leaving the scalp as itself.

Anyway to do that???

It's been a while since I looked at it, but as I recall in the Decimator pane, after clicking Prepare to Decimate, go to the Weights tab - you can then click on the value next to the Scalp surface and set it to a lower value (0.01 is the minimum).

really thanks, it was really giving me headcaches, because a lot of hairs here are too high poly and using decimator was almost impossible due to it effecting the scalp too, because the scalp was pocking throught the head giving a horrible look to the hair.
