Greetings! I think this is the place to request commissions, yes? Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
So here is my inquiry:
The figures out there for anthromorphic lizards are very limited. While I give credit to Rawart for bringing us Drakon and Lizardians, their faces still look far too human to me.
The closest and most lizard-like figures was Raptoids by Codemaster Studios. Particularly, the position of the eyes and shame of the mug makes sense for a lizardman.
What I am requesting is a a sort-of female version of the Raptoids. I am NOT requesting someone take Codemaster's work and rule63 it without his permission!. Thus, here are my questions for anyone willing to undertake this project:
1) Would you prefer to create a whole new figure/morph or modify an existing one?
2) How much would you charge?
Note, this would have to be a poser-compatible figure/morph.
Thank you for your attention. :)

Either morph the figure yourself for you own personal use or contact Codeman Studos. They hold the copyright. When you purchase a product from DAZ you only purchase the right to use the product to to create 2D art. You do not actually purchase the product and cannot do with it what you wish.
Apologize to get in this, but I do not fully understand the following:
My understanding was always that I can modify all the content I payed for in any way I like/need and make renders with it - even commercial ones. (If you meant that it's not allowed to give the 3D mesh away, that's clear, of course)

That is correct, unless there are exceptions noted on the product (the only one I am aware of is the Anne Marie Goddard Digital clone) and as long as the renders aren't being used to compete with the original item (and as long as the textures and geometry can't be extracted).
Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it.
A while back, I did a mash-up of Aiko 3 and the Daz Python. I made the girl's head invisible, and most of the python's body invisible. The outfit hid the interface gap at the neck. I think I parented the python to A3's neck. It was still a difficult figure to pose. I only used it once. I also re-textured a freebie A3 reptilian skin texture using the Python textures so there was some deceptive continuity for your eyes to extrapolate. Here's the WIP:
I can never understand why lizard people females always have breasts. Reptiles don't have mammary glands.
ROFL! Guilty as charged. This practice is called Anthropomorphism and according to Wikipedia, it dates back about 40,000 years in the human imagination. Who am I to argue with tradition? :) Lizards don't have opposable thumbs either, but try holding a ray gun without them...
I wish I could say I was good enough with poser or 3d modeling to do the stuff myself. Hence why I am here asking if someone who is waaaaay more savvy with these tools to do it for $.
Its interesting, Slimer.

And they are never affected by the environment either. So what if the climate is a bit on the cool side? That wouldn't ever slow them down or make them sleepy....
I could be wrong but I thought we were aloud to create and sell delta offsets without getting permission from the original artist? I'm referring to offset morphs that would still require the original figure to work and that does not contain the original data. So couldn't someone create morphs for "Raptoids" for commission or sale if the morphs are just offsets? Or do we need permission to do that? Or is this only for genesis or DAZ owned figures or something?
While pure morphs are generally OK, they do need to be supported by the original figure. Since the figure her is a legacy format item it would need to have blank channels for morphs the way the DAZ human figures do.
Thanks for clarifying. I don't think I ever tried to morph a non genesis figure while working in DS so I was not aware of that.
@ mavis_d6: I'm a fairly experienced modeler but still learning the process in DS. If you don't need it anytime soon and don't find someone else first, I may be able to help. It would cost a fortune though if it was a one time sale figure. If you were OK with it being offered on the DAZ store it would be competitively priced. Are you OK with Genesis since that imports into Poser or is that an issue?
@ Slimer_J_Spud: love the mash-up. Kind of reminds me a little of the snake men from he-man.

I remember there was an episode of Voyager that had a reptilian alien life form that shivered. Only warm blooded animals are capable of shivering. Reptiles just get very very sleepy when they're cold

Shivering reptiles. I'll have to remember that one.
Thanks very much, Swawa3D! And thanks for pointing out the pricing if it was a one-time sale. If it means the price goes down for selling it on Daz store to not cost me a fortune, then I'd be pleased with that, especially given other poser/DS users will enjoy it as well!
And yes, I am cool with Genesis as long as whatever you plan on making imports to poser. Mind if I send you some PMs on what idea I was envisioning?
Its interesting, Slimer.
And it didn't take any modeling skills either, just a lot of tedious posing. I've done some re-texturing, but haven't gotten into Hexagon modeling. I thought the legs on the A3 Reptilian came out nice, but the arms were a PITA, and I got tired fiddling with them. In the same render, I had the anthro-filly Cherry, the anthro-cat Feeloo, and a V4 based Goddess Kali. Kali was 2 V4 figures parented together in much the same way to get a 4-armed V4 with blue skin. I've been meaning to redo that render, but never got around to it. I had to render in layers, so it was more work than just pushing a button. My skills in post-work are mostly limited to the eraser brush...

No problem. You can send me PMs or e-mail me (info@swawa3d.com). I would just consider me a backup though since it may take me a while to get to it and I make no guarantees until I get the full process down. We can see if your vision fits my style. Although when I create figures I would like to try and make them highly versatile with a number of separate morphs so each artist can make it their own.
I understand completely. I'll be patient.
