Difference between Pose and Hierachical Pose?

When saving poses what is the difference between Pose and Hierachical Pose?  They seem to do the exact same thing.  I was wanting to save a pose with what the figure is wearing but can't.  I thought Hierachical Pose would do it but the figure only poses in the nude.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I forgot to mention I'm using Daz 4.10.

A pose applies to a single item.

A hierarchical pose is meant to be applied to a figure and items parented to it, eg you would apply a hierarchical pose to Vicky with an item parented to her hand to pose both Vicky and that item at the same time.

To save a hierarchical pose for a figure with clothes you would need to parent the clothes to the figure (as well as fitting them to the figure as usual).

That's what I thought.  To my knowledge I did parent them.  I put the items under the figure's name and when I tried to create the pose it only comes out nude.

Are you trying to create a preset which would load the clothes on the character? Because that's not what a pose does, a pose will alter the position of an item already loaded.

To have a preset which would load all clothes at the same time on a figure you would need a wearable preset.

Thanks, I'll have to experiment with it some.
