Unable to load genesis 3 & 8 character morphs in DAZ studio

Hi Everyone! I seem to be unable to load my Genesis 3 & 8 characters in DAZ studio. Everytime I try, the figure just loads the default Gen 8/3 character with the characer's skin... Please Help!!!

Do you get any errors when you load a character?
And when loaded, if you mark the character in the scene tab, and open Parameters. In there click Actor > Full body. Do you then see some sliders for the characters you have?
Exactly which filse are you loading, and from which part of the interface?

I usually load the character directly from the "Content Library" tab by double clicking either from the "Characters" folder or I would load a blank Genesis 8 or 3 figure from the "Content Library" then apply the character again thru the "Content Library"...

No, there are no error messages. In the parameters tab what I see is only the character I applied (None of any of the other character I have at all) and it seems to do nothing whe I scrub the slider up and down...
Have you 1) restarted the program, 2) rebooted the program?
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the content giving you trouble?

Yes to all. I even tried reinstalling DAZ Studio... all to no avail...
You could try clearing the DSON cache, from Edit>Preferences (Daz Studio>Preferences on a Mac).

I tried that, didn't seem to work... would I need to do ant thing else? Reboot my PC? Or something?
No, clearing the cacge shoudl just work.
So, tou can load a new Genesis 8 Female (for example) and you see the sldiers for add-on charavters, but they have no effect? How are you installing, and are you using the default paths? If you find the thumbnaisl for one of the character sets in Smart Content's product tab what, if any, icon does it have at top-right?

Ans: Yes, but I can see the slider for only the character I applied ie, if I clicked on "Aiko 8" in the characters folder or if I applied Aiko 8 to Vicky 8, there will be only an "Aiko 8" full body slider (but strangely no head slider options) which seems to do nothing... There will be no other sliders for any of the other characters I own... (I understand I am suposed to see a few character sliders in my shaping tab.

Ans: I also can't find my character sets in the smart content tab...

I install my content manually, but I always just drag and drop them into my "content" folder, It's always worked in the past...
With a manual install there's always the potential for error, especially if you are not importing the metadata.
The only way I can thgink of getting a slider after loading a character but not othewise is if you have the Currently Used group selected in Parameters, but that wouldn't persist between sessions (and wouldn't explain why the slider did nothing).

Everything was working fine until 2 days ago...
That is very odd, I have no idea what could cause that - though I still think you need to do a proper install using default options to eliminate at least one potential cause of problems.
Please switch the viewport to Smooth Shaded view before taking screen shots of nude figures.
Hey! I have figured it out.... you see Everything was working fine untill a few days ago. Then I remembered that those few days ago I accidentally deleted my root content folder from the content library tab... I restored the root content asset folder without including the "content" folder inside. This was very deceptive because the product library repopulated itself seemingly without incident... but because I failed to include the "content" folder, everything went sideways when I tried loading my content... Capture00 shows a quick fix...

Glad you were able to figure it out, though I'm surrpised you got any sliders at all and had no errors without the correct path
