I am trying to make a clean re-install of Daz 3D . Over the years I have ended up wit 3 Daz content folders. To are labeled Daz 3D and one is labeled My Daz 3D Library. Should I delete these folders and start all over again?

Thanks

Roger

Assuming you mean DAZ Studio, which version? Uninstalling and reinstalling won't affect settings anyway - you can change those within the application. If you want to merge the content, which operating system are you using?

I'll be installing Daz Studio 4.6

My operating system is Window 7 Home premium service pack 1

    Thanks

OK, if you go to Edit>Preferences>Content Library tab, then click the Content Directory Manage button, you will get a dialogue box. Expand the entry for Current, then the three sub-branches (DAZ Studio Formats, Poser Formats and Other Import Formats) you will be able to see which folders are listed - are all three of the folders you have in use? Do they all contain content you want access to?

It looks like every thing is there.

I started this process because nothing was showing in the Smart content window. It still is empty.

Do you content directories have \Runtime\Support folders in them (not in a sub folder)? Is the Content Management Service running? If it is you should have folders, even if they are empty, in the Content Library pane under Categories.

Well Richard I think I have it sorted now. I re-imported files through content data base management and I suddelly have content again.

    Thanks.

Good, that would have been the next thing I would have suggested once I knew the CMS was running.
