I was wondering if this product https://www.daz3d.com/rigged-water-iray-2 would be able to be animated in DAZ3D in a way that looks like water is being poured into a cup and the water actually fills the cup from low volume to full?

I'd like to see that animation once you'll realize it! :D
I see that the product page suggests that it includes an adjustment for the level of water in the glass, so technically you could perhaps make incremental adjustsments as you render the 25 frames per second required for "smooth motion" as the glass fills up.
If you were lucky and you were able to adjust the lights and a reflection map "just so" then the surface of the water would likewise suggest movement because its position relative to the lights and the reflection information would be changing slightly.
Unfortunately the surface of real water is a fluid thing (sorry ) that is strongly affected by the speed and force of the incoming stream, so you would likely have to do at least a bit of up and down, wavy surface-like deforming on each frame, in addition to controlling the fill morph.
I have only done a bit of "water" renders in DAZ Studio, and only stills. Here is a sample of the water surface that comes with the bathroom in the small room kit. For me still water has been kind of an advanced feature; the more I try to make waves and stuff the more complicated it becomes.
Also attached, an animated cursor on an old green screen monitor. This was a huge project spanning many hours and over 250 frames of animation. Ooops, looks like the forum software still won't support animated GIF's. Try this URL: https://stelexbbs.byethost7.com/forum/images/animated-cursor.gif
my advice is , If you want to really animate water you should get fluidos plugin https://www.daz3d.com/fluidos-for-daz-studio
these are the kind of animated water I can make with using this plugin and yes including puring water from a pitcher into a cup

Pretty neat. I have not seen this product or application before! The little bathtub was just dandy and the bubbles in the fish tank were very good. I thought the water pouring out of the hole in the fish tank was a bit repetitive but hey, no complaints here really.
Thanks for showing us this one.
I guess this is no longer a "new user" topic but it would be interesting to know more about the ins and outs of this, and its positioning vs. static and "rigged" water props.
Thanks Roman.:)
I know my preference is when it comes to animation the more the dynamic morphs or being able to ad simulation to the prop the better, reason being static props tend to be much more time & labor consuming to animate which requires individual keyframing to moving the static prop pre keyframe , with fluidos plugin the water prop is a script that runs a simulation to the plugin & can make the water be influences by other props added to the domain within the scene. its a game changer. f luidos has been out for a few months. I will admit its takes some practice getting use to working with it. but you can run any type fluid in any scene with it and I believe the pa has released a bunch of presets for add ons as well to go with it I just bought the wave presets. . currently I am working on pretty girls walking on a Spanish beach beach using HDR and fludios . my first animation using hdr which has been a real challenge
This is my latest animation .

That is awesome. Water in the stream looked great. You're headed in the right direction, that's for sure!
One of the most interesting things I've seen in the last year or so, is this business of having an actual eagle or other trained bird wear a little body harness with a video camera on it. This produces produces a (literally) bird's eye view of various flight sequences. And there were some rudimentary "eagle cam" sequences developed for Google Cardboard that were nice too.
Awesome animations Ivy. Thank you for sharing and pointing me in the right direction.
