Iray Wet & Dry Fabrics

I must not be using this product properly, because when I select the clothing item in the scene tab and then apply the shader (by double-clicking) in the Smart Content tab, nothing happens. 

Does anyone know what the steps are to use this?

Do I need to select something in the Surfaces tab for the wardrobe item? 

Sorry I'm so new to this type of shader.

Yes, you need to select the object in the scene tab, and the surfaces in the surface tab you want to apply the shader to, before clicking on the shader.
