How to reset a surface's parameters?

I use this product frequently https://www.daz3d.com/no-suit-for-genesis-8-males
And one of my most common problems is that when I apply a skin surface to a surface that was previously metal/fabric/etc, it's discolored, because the skin I'm copying doesn't alter some kind of parameter.
I discovered a solution was to use a 3delight shader, then put it back to iray uber and the skin was fine. However, I'd like an easier solution than that or loading a new figure.
I hope this makes sense, if not, please just refer to the title question. Thank you very much.

The title is a general question, independent of the product, that'd be good to know. I was providing context as to why I'd ask it.
Skin materials would usually reset all properties, unless they were designed to combine with other presets in a multi-option set. However, some older ones might miss out properties that have beena dded by shader updates. The obvious alternative is to save a preset that will restore neutral settings, but that's not really diffrent from what you are doing now.
Well, I guess it's good to know there's nothing simpler like a "Zero surfaces" option or anything. Thank you, your reply was helpful.
If you have a peset that works you can always make it a custom action (right-click menu in the content pane) to add it to a menu, for quick access
That's a good idea too!
