Can someone give me some insight into what these different file types are and what their functions are?

.dsf
.duf
"Mats"
"Mats SSS"
.py
.pz2
.mc6

I am trying to learn as much of this stuff as possible. Thanks.

Hmmm... I don't really see any of those file types I asked about outlined in the Glossary of Terms you linked me to. Am I missing them?

    As I said, so far.

DSF and DUF are both standard DAZ Studio file formats. DSF is still used in legacy files for users that prefer DAZ Studio 4.0 and for some other files generated for content creation.

DUF is the DS4.5 standard file type that is used now. And only supported in DAZ Studio 4.5 and up.

MATS are a general term that can mean either a Texture in DAZ Studio and Poser or a file type folder in the Poser Pose folder/s.

MATS SSS are Texture files that have Sub Surface Shaders in them for more Photo realistic rendering, DAZ Studio and Poser both have SSS abilities but can not use the files from the other program.

PY is a Python Script file supported in Poser to add extra features and functions to Poser. They can not be used by DAZ Studio.

Pz2 is a poser file type, often a Scene file or Animation file. Both Poser and DAZ Studio can load and use them

MC6 is a Poser materials file type.. I'm not 100% on if DAZ Studio supports them fully or only parts of them. I know Poser Shaders will not be read from the Mc6 file if it is read at all.

    Better?
