How do parameter Favorites work now?

in The Commons
I've noticed for a long time now that morph dials that you Favorite do not get saved with scenes. They used to though, a very long time ago (I know because I used to save the eye and head-neck positioning ones with every character). Does anyone know if and how you *can* get saved scenes or subsets to retain favorited parameters? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can anymore!
Favorite parameters are only set for that specific object.
By the way, nowadays most of us use this product for eye/head/neck positioning: https://www.daz3d.com/look-at-me-pose-control
Out of curiosity how do you know that 'most of us' use that product do you have information on the sales of that item? Although that also brings up the question of how you are defining 'us'.
Just as a small info: I'm not one of "us" as I don't use that product...
Yep same here. Which is why I was curious.
I bought that product months ago because folks said it was so great. I used it once, and wasn't all that impressed. I guess that means that I'm both "us" and "them". I'm "thus"!
I am curious too about the morphs we favorite, as well as other options for example, I favorited a bend product, which I turn on or off depending on the pose. however it never seems to remain favorited beyond that session.
I think the 'Favorites' are only effective for the scene or subscene they were favorited in and not generally for all scenes for that particular morph.
I've only ever used them doing SickleYield tutorials where you favorite the morphs that you want transferred to another generation via the Transfer Tool.
I just use Powerpose to pose the neck, head, and eyes now, but getting back to the question...
I think Serene Night is right, they only seem to be favorited for that session. Maybe Richard can verify this, but I hope that the ability to at least save them with the project can be added back in a future Studio update.
I use look at me all the time. While it has it's quirks it definitely beats me trying to do it manually.
https://www.daz3d.com/look-at-me-pose-control is one of the most useful things I've ever purchased. I use it all the time. It does more than just make the character look at the camera. You can make a character look at some other object. You can make two characters look at each other. It works for almost anything with poseable eyes, like animals, dragons, and humans. There are some freebie pose scripts for looking at the camera, but I've never found one as capable and flexible as this product.
Ditto
I don’t get why anyone needs to buy something to get a character to look at something else.
I'm not trying to criticize but that’s very easy to do already.
I did try the eyeclock product, but still found it better to pose the eyes manually.
The "parameter favorites" feature has to be fixed. It wasn't just for the eyes, head and neck paramters. They only gave a small example of how they make use of the feature.
This isn't the time for signal boosting/promoting oddly specific store products xD
Wondering the same thing...I used to be able to favorite morphs and they would be saved for the next time I opened the file. Now every time I close and re-open a file, I have to re-favorite the morphs on my characters. I want to say this began happening with the latest update, but I'm not sure it hasn't started later than that...
I just use custom nulls to pose eyes and heads, works nicely
I then set left and right a few clicks to left and right of the group center, and now I can just move this group about in the scene, and the eyes will naturally pose, provided they're set to "look at" the correct null in their parameter option.
Hmm... Doesn't the favorite tag get saved to the base figure and installed morphs the same way any other change that you want to save globally for that base figure?
Load "Genesis 1/2/3/8/8.1 Basic Male/Female" (to an empty scene)
Do not pose the figure or change the value of the dials
Tag the dials you want as Favorite
Edit->Save As->Support Asset->Save Modified Assets
There's also "Point to", which I use all the time. Ok, when you open a saved scene, you need to move either the beholder of the eye or the target to wake up them eyes but that is quite a small inconvenience.
