What is the correct path for template folders?

Hello,

in my environment the installation wizzard is not working. So I copied all files and folders from the various daz package's zip-files into my work directory. So far it worked fine. But for genesis 2 there are "template" folders. And the question is where these folders have to be located in my working directory.
.../DAZ 3D/My Library/data/... ??

The template file as in the UV template to create a Texture on? They can be any place you wish, DAZ Studio does not use those. They are provided for your use if you like.

Depending on the templates and the content I'm tempted to say that they don't have to be located anywhere.

When looking at the library, and contents for Genesis 2 Female in particular, you'll soon come across this one:

People\Genesis 2 Female (starting in the library itself of course).

In there you'll most likely find sub-folders such as Anatomy, Characters, Hair, etc. In other words; in here are all of the resource files which Daz Studio uses and needs to work with Genesis 2 Female actors.

If you go even further and look at the contents you'll see mostly .duf files combined with png files which turn out to be small previews.

Now, If you look at those templates then you'll probably notice that a lot of them show wire frames. They're not so much files which are to be used by the program, but more so by you. You can use them to extend on the figure you're working with, for example giving you a good overview of how the stuff was build and what you need to create textures.

Which basically means that there isn't a real official place for them, not where Daz Studio is concerned.

If you go over your library from time to time (especially useful if you also install 3rd party content manually) then you may end up finding template files all over the place. I always move the whole lot around so that they're only located in the 'Templates' sub folder (which sits in the main library folder).

Hope this can give some ideas.
