Help - Rendering Poser content with 3Delight, with no material visibility

I have some figures that I purchased that were Poser-specific, that won't render in 3Delight no matter what I try (They seem to work fine in Iray).  But for this project, I need to use multiple cameras from LineRender9000 in order to create lighting profiles.  Render Engine is "Scripted 3Delight," and I haven't seen a 'scripted Iray' option.  Anyway, the creature I loaded is Brute-X, and rendering with Scripted 3Delight gives me an empty scene.  Vanilla 3Delight renders a blacked-out silhouette of the creature, and Daz lists these as "Shader : Daz Studio Default" in the Surfaces pane.  How do I go about fixing this thing?

edit: durrrr, using Scripted 3Delight requires you to select a script each time you do a new scene!  As much as I'd like to chalk this one up to my vision impairment, this one's just pure ignorance on my part.  BUT, that does still lead me to question why 3Delight doesn't work for some imported Poser content, which may require a brief explanation on shaders/materials.  And also, does that mean my LR9000 script is compatible with Iray materials, despite being "Scripted 3Delight?"

To answer the second question first, Line Render 9000 uses shader code which is specific to 3Delight. Within Studio, if you load content with Iray materials and then render with 3Delight, it will do it's best to do an automatic conversion from Iray to 3Delight surface settings. Most of the time, the automatic convesion will look okay. But if the settings get complicated, and/or you're going to do a lot of rendering with 3Delight / LR9000, you may want to pick up RiverSoft and Sickleyield's RSSY Iray to 3Delight Converter product which tends to do a better job of re-mapping the settings.

For the first question, let me pull up my rocking chair...

When I first got into the Daz world, Studio was still a "baby". Most content was written for Poser and although Studio could read the material settings, we often had to tweak several things to get the output from Studio to look like Poser's. In particular the specular and bump / displacement settings needed adjustment because of the difference with how the two products dealt with them. Also, some really old Poser content (or badly produced freebies) would actually load without any default materials. You had to go to the Pose folder structure (don't get me started on why material settings are "poses"...) to find material settings or else you'd get a plain plastic render.

Unless the Poser content is using custom shader code for that rendering engine, you should at least get some output from rendering with 3Delight, but yeah it may take some tweaking to get it to look exactly the way you'd like.
