Trouble with Michael 6 with M5 Textures

Hello Everyone,
When applying the M5 textures to my Michael 6 model, everything looks
great, except for around the mouth and eyes. I can apply the M4 textures
perfectly using the converters, but I'm still having trouble with the M5 textures.
What should I be doing?

Can you post a screen shot of whats happening
Hi Frank,
When I use the converter and script, my M4 textures are working great on M6.
But I don't know what to do to get M5 textures to apply.
Is there a way to do it? Do I need some kind of converter?
Before, you could just apply the texture and then switch the UV settings.
That doesn't work.
Can you do as Frank asked and post a screenshot please?
Thanks for the reminder.
This is a screenshot of M6 with the Sean texture made for M5.
You might have to go into surfaces and make sure Michael 5 UV is selected.
Are the M5 material presets .duf? It looks like they're .dsa, so the UVset is not getting set on M6. You need to either load them on Genesis 1 and resave as .duf, or else go to the Surfaces pane after applying them to M6 and set the UVset to M5.
I tried all those options, but it still didn't work. The body is fine, but around the mouth area is where something is going wrong.
I also saved the files as .duf file. I saved it as a material file with that extension.
Has anyone been successful using a M5 texture on M6? I haven't seen anyone do that yet.
I had issues too with some textures.
Johan for M5 http://www.daz3d.com/johan-for-m5 works well for me ;
Guys, the Sean texture is actually made for David 5, not Michael 5. Nothing you do will make it work. You either need to convert the textures using Map Transfer to make them M5 UVs, or just forget them. I am considering doing UV sets for the remaining Genesis 1 characters, mainly A5, S5, F5, D5 and H5, but am waiting to see how much interest there is before investing the time. Not a huge number of textures out there for these characters, so I don't know. Unless I find a really fast and easy way to do the remapping, it might not be worth it. I'm the guy who made the M4 for Genesis 2 Male, by the way.
Some M5 textures work on M6, some not.
Why?
Are you certain the texture you are applying is M5, not base male or D5, H5, or F5? Those other than M5 will not fit on Genesis 2, except M4 with the Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male product.
Double check the texture on Gen 1 and see what UV it's using.
The M5 UV isn't 100% correct however, but no one has ran into what I've found yet. ;)

;) I know what you mean.
Yes I looked at the UV used on genesis and I understand now why some characters sold for M5 does'nt work for M6
What M5 textures are you talking about? All of the ones I tried work just fine. I think you may be confusing M5 textures with D5 or F5.
I used one which had M4 UV: but perhaps did I forgot to install all the files I mostly work in Poser, I don't install everything in DAZ studio.
I was trying to use the Sean and the Neo textures that were designed for
the D5 character. That explains it. I tried using the Undead Fiend texture
by applying it to the M5 model, then saving it as a Material (.duf) file and
then applying it to the M6. Everything except the head applied properly.
It gave me the same distortion like in the image I posted earlier.
I would love to use the Undead Fiend on the new M6 Zombie. It would be
perfect, but I just need to get this texturing issue resolved. Could it be that
the Undead Fiend is for D5 also?
If you use the map transfer utility in DS, you can convert the textures to M5. There should be a few tutorials if you do a google search. The main thing is to export the textures by material group... like only export the head (lips, nostrils, face) at one time, then torso... etc.
Then you can use that to apply to G2M.
Apply the texture to Genesis (1) and take a look at the Surfaces pane in DS. It should indicate which UV the texture uses. I don't own Undead Fiend, but I believe it actually has its own UVs (not M5 or D5 or anything else). If you want to convert to M5 UVs, try a Map Transfer as Slosh and Male-M3dia suggested.
I'd be extremely interested in this but appreciate the ROI is probably not worth it given the limited texture support the characters have had - just registering an interest! :)
EDIT: When GenX is updated (expected around Jan '14) to support G2 perhaps there will be more interest, as some people may like to transfer morphs from gen 5 characters?
