I like medieval and renaissance period clothing.
Me to I am with Frank on this type of clothing.. I would like to be able to fit Vicki on a horse with a fancy dress...genesis 1 please ...Thank you Trish

Wearing a fancy dress on horseback is a specialization in itself, takes some serious morphs to drape right (or dynamics, with their own complexities). Would love to see some dresses designed for this.

Not to forget the sidesaddle, have yet to see one anywhere.

Isn't that what sailors spend their money on when they're in port?
    :cheese:

Which ties into the more serious part of this post...

I'd love to see some Age of Sail outfits - not necessarily uniforms, because one didn't work on a ship in full-dress, but clothes that a seaman, midshipman, or officer would have worn when reefing or steering.

Mind you, I still use Generation 4 characters, Hiro 3, and (of course) Aiko 3, so I might not be your target audience.

1930's is a big one for me. i've been looking for a 1930's era movie camera.

A lot of my stuff is inspired by old movies and radio serials, I've been wanting to do some renders recreating some classic scenes from the 1933 King Kong.

+1 on LycanthropeX's comment, the dirty thirties is my mostly used, and sadly very understocked favorite period in time.

Btw Lycan, I have a Movie camera...

ooo that camera looks great, where can it be acquired?

I would love to see outfits from China, Romance of the Three Kingdoms period. And the sidesaddle dress sounds fascinating.

Italian Renaissance, Regency (Don't forget the shawls), and a sexy Edwardian evening gown with sitting morphs for all those dinner parties.

LOTS of Medieval Fantasy Dresses with coordinating male counterpart! PLEASE!!!

    WINTER CLOTHING, any era...

    How about something from the 1950s... male and female fashions;
Everyday work clothes, lounge wear, beach clothes, sleeping clothes, funeral or Sunday church clothes and 50s inspired textures for clothes (pastel blues, pinks, yellows) and 50s inspired hair too for both male and female. Underwear and swimwear as well... although there are quite a few that fit the bill..

More 50s style homes, furniture, cars, kitchens, etc.

I'd also love to see something from the space program, 60s to 90s... NASA astronaut space suits.

Fireman outfit, update the Cowboy sets for M4 to work with Gen1 and 2.

More Disney fairytale inspired stuff (Princes, and Princesses) or simply update what's on the market.

    Misc.
Snowmobile would be nice, something from the 80s or 80s.
    Artic Cat or Skandic. LOL

More comfy lounge type wear... sweat pants, an improved bathrobe for both male and female that has lots of morphing poses, not just the static poses. Sickleyield, 3D-Age and so on have wonderful clothes like that.

Oh and I'd love to see someone update Leandro hair... one of my fave hair pieces from M4 era.

Someone needs to update the Zev0 & Mec4D Body Hair props for Genesis, M5 to work with G2M / M6.

I would love any era of historical clothing that is accurate, both male and female, especially that of the common folk and servants. I would especially like fishwives, something similar to a Newhaven fishwife or a Portuguese varina.

Ankle-length historical and fantasy gowns for V6. No particular era. There's literally dozens of frocks like this at DAZ, Renderosity and RuntimeDNA, for V4 but V5 and V6 haven't been particularly well served. Aave Nainen's stuff is very good but most of it is contemporary.

Thanks @everybody for those great suggestions!
Now my to-do list is certainly longer than it was before this thread *g*

I can't promise yet which one I'll do first but you've given me a lot of new ideas. Thank you! :)

Clothing from Colonial period with outfits for the 'rich', 'poor' and the servants.

Clothing for ranch/farm workers in the early 1800's to late 1800's.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking for Colonial clothing, particularly one like this for a poor farmer's daughter...

I, too, came late to this thread. Melissa, you might want to check out Wilmap's Digital Creations (www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk)
She's very good and has a wide variety of period costumes especially for Genesis I. I believe she will do commission work as well.

I agree with whoever mentioned a fireman's outfit. There's no shortage of people equipped to defend characters from zombies, aliens and fantasy weaponry, but once they're confronted with fire then short of filling the bucket from Maclean's Everyday Household Items with water and flinging it at the blaze, they're on their own.

I'd also like to see a proper dog-collared vicar outfit - somebody needs to be a presence on the sites of the various Daz churches, if only to prevent all the fires breaking out that no-one is dressed to tackle :)

It's not really an "era" - but golden age sci-fi. The style of Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Barzoom adventures - now that would be something I'd love.

And then more military parade stuff - like dress uniforms with a lot of tassles and medals upon. ;-)

    +1

what I'd also like would be more diverse contemporary clothing. That may sound wired with so many dresses, skirts, shirts and trousers for vicky... but as I'm not a dress or skirt fan and many shirts are not the style I like, I'm often short on possibilites and have to got 2nd or 3rd best choice... Especially when it comes to more mature characters. That does go for michael too... except for the dress and skirt thing... he certainly has not enough dresses and skirts :D

What often ruins cloths for me (no matter the era) is this wired style thats like a strapless shirt with a second shirt, that covers neck and shoulders... I don't get that style *shrug*
for example the new aeron outfit... i think its awesome... but that neck/shoulder thing? you can strap on guns without that wired neck covering thing... I guess it's totally in, as it is a recurring thing since a while now... and I'm not saying its ugly... I just... well it keeps me from buying many clothes. Not that one buyer would make a difference ^^

Thanks for the link, Steve. Wilmap is offering some very nice things! Not what I currently need, but I'll keep her in mind for future projects. I can't afford to commission anything at the mo, because I just broke the bank by purchasing ZBrush. (WooHOO! I've wanted it forever.) I'm planning to make my own clothing (...eventually..heh...). %-P

Unfortunately you've asked for an era, not for a style ... personally I would like to see more traditional dress clothes. Or to say it in german: Trachtenkleidung

Tradtional Clothes for G2-Females and Males from Bavaria, the Black Forest (Schwarzwaldmädel) and of course Austria. I know, that it will be difficult to make big sells with that kind of clothes, but if you have some time and want do some for showing the tradition of your homecountry and their neighbourhood.

If you want stay in this thread for an era, why not clothes from the glory K&K monarchy in Austria

    1. Picture: Traditional Black Forest Dress

    2. Picture: Traditional Dress Clothes from Austria (Kleinwalsertal)

    3. Picture (for the era) Emperor Franz-Josef from Austria and Empress Elisabeth (Sissi)

I would really like to see Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau styles. It would make for some lively renders.

A set of half a dozen or so 19th century sleeve styles that can be used for kitbashing with any basic long dress. There were some fairly exaggerated sleeves across that century. Some of them the off the shoulder style shown above, and others like the Gibson Girl balloons. Shaders are your friends...

Or conversely, outfits that have such sleeves. Although that would be one style of sleeve per outfit.

Or perhaps a redo of the Vintage kids. That long skirt really doesn't want to update to Genesis.
