Can you instance an instance?

I'm trying to set up an auditorium of furniture. It woudl be easiest to create a group of instances, set that up into a row, and then instance that to creat many rows. But I can't seem to create an instance of an instance group.  Any ideas?

    You cannot instance an instance. But you can duplicate it.

    1. Create your row of instanced furniture and group them together.
    2. Select the group of furniture.
    3. In the main menu, Edit->Duplicate->Duplicate Node Hierarchies
    4. Move the duplicate into position.
    5. Repeat Steps 2 - 4 until you've populated your auditorium.
