Editing Skins In Photoshop

I have many Daz3ed products, specifically, I have a great number of books. I would love to customize some of the skins on these books to better match the setting I plan on using them for. I have Adobe Photoshop. I have been looking through my Daz3d files and I simply cant find where these texture skins are for these files so I can open and edit them.
What am I missing here? Can Daz3d p[roducts be edited in photoshop? Am I just not looking in the right places?

Quick way to do it:
Open Photoshop, open Daz, load the product.
On the Surfaces tab, find the surface/channel you want to edit (usually Base Color or Diffuse). If you hover your mouse over the image box, a tooltip shows where it is - but there's a short cut...
Click the down arrow on the image box and choose "Browse..." It'll open a file browser in the directory where the texture files for thst item are. Drag the one you want into Photoshop and then close the file browser.
Just remember, when you've finished editing, not to over-write your original file!
Great idea, I had never thought about customizing books! :D
Before you start to search for the texture templates and can't find them for your products here is a scripts mcjTemplate that generates those texture templates, UV-maps or seam guides as they are also called.
I plan on trying this all tonight, and I'll grab some screenshots of the process to help others :)
I have the current photoshop CC - I have the 3d bridge for Daz and Adobe installed. Yet, if I am in photoshop and I try and open the texture files I have located via Daz3d the files will not open because adobe doesnt know the file extensions or interact with them. What am I missing here? Ive looked around online, but most content out there on this topic is painfully out of date.
So atm I am stuck, the newest photoshop cc and newest daz3d are not seeming to talk to each other. Or I dont know what I am doing. Is there an up to date guide on exporting existing materials to photoshop to manipulate, then saving them and using them in Daz3d? Most of the stuff I find it out of date and not helpful.
My photshop cc wont read the Daz material files - or am I missing something?
It sounds like you are mixing up the daz files with the jpeg textures that you want to edit.
1) Have photoshop and Daz Studio open.
2) In Daz Studio, load the book that you want to change.
3) Locate the Surface Selection Tool (In my setup, it is two icons to the left of the Spot Render Tool). You can also use Alt+SHIFT+M
4) Using the Surface Selection Tool, click on the book.
5) Open the Surfaces Tab in Daz Studio.
6) Locate Base Colour - you should see a very small representation of the texture there, just to the left of the RGB values.
7) Left-click the base colour thumbnail / icon.
8) from the pop-up menu, click Browse (should be at the very top)
9) This will open the folder that contains the textures for the book (usually jpeg files).
10) Now drag the one that you want to edit into Photoshop.
11) I would recommend re-saving with a different name immediately, to avoid accidentally going over the original.
12) Edit the image, then save again as the jpeg that you saved in step 11.
13) Back in Daz Studio, from the browse window that you opened in step 8, select your new texture.
I hope that helps.
That's exactly the way I do it. This works well. See attached.
