Question regarding clothing from generation Genesis 2 and 3

Noob question here, I just started buying stuff and I stick only with Genesis 8 character purchases since they look more detailed.

Now I realize that there are lots of clothing that are Genesis 2 and 3, can these fit on Genesis 8 characters or they only work for lower generations ?

    They can up to a point: G8F includes "autofit clones" which allow you to convert Genesis, G2F and G3F clothes automatically to her, but not all items convert well. Footwear and especially high heels are notoriously problematic for example.

    Yes, but there's limitations.

    Everything that's close to the body (catsuits, bikinis, T-shirts, trousers, etc.) usually works fine.

    Everything that's "flowy" (long skirts, kimonos, capes, etc) is often problematic. Sometimes this can be solved with DForce.

    Heeled shoes don't work with auto-fit, but G3 shoes can be converted to G8 with this free method.

    No, you don't need any add-ons for basic conversion.
