Problem with blondie9999's fantasy and sci-fi props

I cannot seem to load Fantasy and Sci-fi props in DS4.11.  It says look in the log file but I do not know where that is.  I am not sure what is going on.  It will not load into the scene.

4.11 has issues with many .daz files - according to the chnage log chnages have been made which should reduce or eliminate the recent issues (not issues with files that didn't load in 4.10 either). For now try loading the Poser models and applying the DS materials to those (though remember that these will be 3Delight not Iray).

I understand the material issue because the products predate iray.  My issue is that I am not able to load it.  I found a similar product by blondie and was able to load it.  It is the one with the faces.  I found ctrl clicking on iray emissive shaders tokeep the maps but load the iray shaders.

I've found that a lot of these old FX props haven't worked well (or at all, in some cases) for several D|S versions now. The only way I've managed to get both morphs and materials for some of them into at least a repairable state is to load the Poser versions, then drag the materials from the Content Library into the Viewport. For some arcane reason, clicking on the materials in Content Library doesn't work any more. From that point, I can re-create the materials in Iray with no more than the usual difficulties.

This product says shaders rather than materials - if that is right then don't forget to select a surface or surfaces on the model before trying to apply the preset.

The one I was thinking of in particular has Poser .pz2 materials, so that shouldn't have been what was going wrong. Besides, would drag-and-drop of a material actually work where a click didn't (as it did in this case) if it needed a surface selected?

Anyway, I did look at the .pz2 code, and there's a few things in there I'm not entirely sure I understand; it's probably something specific to Poser 5 or 6. IIRC I eventually got working equivalent materials by reading through the .pz2 code and assembling something in Iray that I was fairly sure did (mostly) the same thing.

I think drag-and-drop is the same as double-click with the surface you drop on selected - but it's not a feature I use, so I'm not sure.

What if I find a way to install DS 3 and resave it there as something else?  I think I have DS3 in my product library.  I think?

That would still be a .daz file. Does it ot work in DS 4.10.0.123?

I went to download it manually and opened up DS.  It did open but after closer examination of the files it was the poser version.  The connect version did not work at all.

As I said above, load the Poser version and apply the DS materials - they are included according to the read me.
