Surface settings and most used figures

For a lot of figures I am using the same surface settings.
Is there a way to just load the settings in a few clicks by saving them in a way?
Also, a while ago I read there is a way to add button or link on your DAZ workspace so you can fast access a figure you use most.
I though I had fav'd that forum thread, but am unable to find it back ><
Thanks for your time :)

From the menu bar, select File > "Save As" > "Material(s) Preset". You can then apply that preset to a selected item via File > Merge .
I haven't tried it, but I also see there is a File > "Save As" > "Hierarchical Material(s) Preset" that you probably also want to research. And you may want to double-check how the use of different shaders affects things, possibly you'll have to apply the shader first before loading the saved presets, can't remember.
Somebody else will have to answer the button half of your question, but you will want to go into Window > Workspace > Customize, then on the righthand pane click on Menus, and that's where you can cusomize your menu options once you determine what that customization is.
Since most figures have the same material names you could set one up, being careful in the options dialogue to exclude maps and UV Set, and use that as a universal setting.
To create a custom action, find the thing you want in the Content Library, right-click, and select Create Custom Action. That will add it to the Scripts menu - you can place it elsewhere with Window>Workspace>Customise.
Thanks Sean, I will try and fiddle with the material presets.
Somehow it didn't occur to me to save them there ><
