Background image not rendering

A scene I just purchased contains a background plane with an image on it. The image does not appear in my iRay renders.

The product is: Peaceful Corners – BASE ( https://www.daz3d.com/peaceful-corners-base )

How do I get that background image to render?

That is a very old product for Poser!

I'd suggest you to not buy background planes, but HDRI domes in their stead!

That was actually designed for poser but I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to get it to work in DS.   You will possibly find pose presets and/or material presets under Poser formats in your DS.  I Doubt if you will be able to render it using Iray,  you will have to use the 3delight render engine.

Images on a background plane or other prop should still show up in Iray renders, although some tweaking of surface settings might be necessary. I'm wondering if the placement of the background prop is outside of the Iray dome being used?

    Thanks for your replies.

Let me take a guess at what the problem is, based on what y'all are saying. Here is my guess, tell me if I'm correct:

    1. All the surfaces in the scene are 3Dlight.

    2. The surface on the background plane is special. It is an HDRI image, which is very special.

    3. iRay cannot render a 3Dlight HDRI surface. It will only come out invisible or black.

    4. iRay CAN render the 3Dlight surfaces of the rest of the scene, thought not perfectly.

@lukon100 "The surface on the background plane is special. It is an HDRI image, which is very special"

If you mean that the HDRI has lighting information, then you don't need to use a background plane. Instead, load the HDRI into the map section of the Render Settings>Environment>Environment Map tab.
