Suggestion for the already Awesome DAZ Install Manager (DIM)

When you mouse over a product in the DIM listing (stop cursor on line), it displays information about the product. (DIM_Suggest1.jpg)

Under My Account in the Product Library, you can see the main promo image for each product. (DIM_Suggest2.jpg)

It would be nice if the DIM offered a small image to accompany the info for the product line info. (DIM_Suggest3.jpg)

If you notice the total product count for my account is over 2000, and sometimes I just can't remember what a product is just from the title.

If you have not downloaded and tried the DIM, don't hesitate! I kept putting off using it, but now it is on the top of my favorite utils...

And also please an export function that creates a file which contains a JPG. So we have an offline database of our installed DIM-stuff. :)

I'd like it if one could switch from online to offline mode without having to close the DIM and then restart it. If that is is not possible, how about the ability to pin it to my task bar?

Mine is pinned, why can't you?

AS for the Image thing? You do know the displayed info is the Metadata don't you? Very easy to read a txt file and display but adding a image would require a Viewer to be built into a program designed to install content.

Tracking requests in a forum is not practical; discussion, sure, tracking... no. Feature requests should be submitted here. One submission should be made per feature being requested. Submitting multiple feature requests in the same ticket will not work to your advantage; it makes dealing with that ticket a larger task and require more work before the ticket can be completed/closed; this is coming "straight from the horse's mouth" as they say. Understand that a feature requested is not necessarily a feature added/approved; all requests will be weighed against the general usefulness of what is being requested and whether it fits within our vision of the application.

You already can. Click the name of the account, in the top right corner of the Main Window. When the Account Window pops up, check the "Work Offline" option. Click "Start." You can just as easily go the other way too.

Read the top answer to this question.

The displayed info is "metadata" (i.e. "data about data") but don't confuse that with the metadata installed to the CMS, used by DAZ Studio and Carrara. Because that kind of metadata, it is not. Displaying an image is not all that difficult. A [3D] viewer, on the other hand, is much more involved and nearly certain not to be implemented.

Would an image, scaled and placed within the Product Info Tip be generally useful? Sure. The "devil in the details" will be around managing (i.e. retrieving, caching, storing, refreshing, etc) the images.
