Perfectly white teeth on M6HD?

In what universe do human beings have perfectly white teeth? How can you say your new HD character is based on people when the teeth are still cartoon white? You guys still haven't figured out that its about the details ... nobody is going to believe white teeth with no depth or shine to them... Come on DAZ... you nailed the skin but forgot the teeth.. now we can't make the characters smile unless any of you know how to make the teeth look real.

I feel it may have to do more with you lighting. I'll run a test to see how mine come out.

Is that with or without the SSS on the teeth?

Anyone who wears dentures has perfectly white teeth and look at the Osmond family photo's, famous for their perfectly white smiles. You image however, is not like reality and I agree, could it be your lighting, or maybe under surfaces you need to set lighting model to matte, as it may be set to plastic?

So two tests. This is using my own portrait light set which uses AoA ambient light as my area light. In both test I have lowered the subsurface strength to 70%. The Test one keeps the AoA light Illumination as "On" and Test two has the illumination set to "Diffuse Only"

So pretty much it takes some tweaking with lights and surface settings..I tried to see how it would look with UE but it was taking so damn long so I dont have a comparison for that. Also not that if a bright light shines on anything that is white it will appear white, and you wont see much details on the teeth if they aren't close up anyways.

Also my render settings for these were "proof" settings. No where near max haha ._.

Yeah... I'd have to say that you're right on the money. I would like to see some more slight imperfections in the future but I do feel more comfortable with the HD character now. Thanks

No problem~ I must say he looks mighty good in that new render.

Don't get me wrong... I still want to see DAZ do something about the perfectly white teeth but I've figured out that I can use my Genesis Dental plan to replace those fake looking teeth and add some character flaws.

In my first art studio thread, (which with 1500 posts I am not going back through) I posted the settings in the Surface tab to get the teeth a bit more bluish gray. Change your diffuse to a very light blue/gray and lower the percentage, and lower the glossy number (which does the opposite of what you think it would logically) to 80% or less. Try that and see if the teeth have a better look to them.
