Military Module black load in

Just like it says in the title, really. I was going to do some playing around with the Military Module and the item in question loaded in completely black in texture view. It looks fine in IRAY, but in texture I need some kind of exterior lighting, like a distant light to see anything.

Has anyone else run into this, and are there any suggestions for a fix?

    (There was no need to refer to the title since your post cntains all the salient information - if it hadn't referring to the title wouldn't have been a repalcement.)

    It looks as if it has lights, does the model load with actual lights parented to it for at least some of those? If so it would turn off the headlamp, but the local lights might not be doing much for navigation. Turning off Preview Lights (cmd/ctrl L, or the Window menu) would help in that case.

    i loaded the military module into the scene in prespective view and texture shading and it comes in black. I loaded in a different vesicle beside it and it came in fine, with no lighting needed. Ther's no extra lighting, no camera.

    Presumably something to do with the surface setings then, but I don't have that set to look at it.
