Animation question: how to reveal a model from the dark in to the light?

Hi, folks how would you go about doing a flat foot g8 walk animation with the model revealing her self walk to you from the dark in to the light... doesnt have to be much in the scene.. can be totally black. I could do it simple in adobe premiere pro... as she would be walking in ligh with black back ground and then fade in the video... but then the effect isnt the same if the light isnt realy there... if you get what i mean. Would it be plain and simple have a spot light pointing straight up from the floor in to the air..? Currious how you would go about it... simple walk just walk forward to the camera. Thanks

    I'm not sure what you mean, but you can animate lights yes.

    I'd have a spotlight pointed straight down forming a pool of light.  Then have your figure walk from the darkness beyond that circle into the light.  Pretty simple, really.  I'm assuming your using Daz and rendering in Iray.
