Is there a way to eliminate poke-through using the Geometry Editor?

Even with products like Fit Control, Wear Them All, and several of Sickleyield's helpers, eliminating poke-through on some characters—especially big-breasted characters—can be virtually impossible.

Of course if the outfit covers the pectorals it's easy enough to hide them, but many female outfits are low-cut (really?) or otherwise revealing (what a surprise).

Recently I was trying to fit some fairly skimpy clothes on a big-breasted character but couldn't find a way to prevent her nipples poking through. So I tried the Geometry Editor, selecting the problem polygons and telling it to hide them. The result looked promising until I reloaded the outfit and...nope, still poking through. I also tried deleting the selected polygons, but, after thinking about it for 5 minutes or so, DAZ Studio crashed. Not the way to go, obviously.

I'm thinking it can't be done using the Geometry Editor but if anyone knows of a way, I (and surely others) would appreciate knowing how.

Ideally don't set the nipples unless it's very thin cloth. You could assign then to a new surface or selection set and make the surface transparent or use the set to quickly select and hide them each time. You could also use a Push Modifier with a weight map on the clothes.

If you plan and saving the scene, then don't hide or delete them, create a new material zone for them and then turn down the opacity. It won't affect the figure globally and will still be there after you save and reopen the scene file.

In most cases with pokethru, just apply a smoothing modifer with collision to the outfit and in most cases it fixes it.

    Thank you both!

Yesterday I tried 'Create a New Material Zone From Selected,' but for some reason it didn't work. Today it did *shrug*.

I can see this coming in handy for all sorts of things, not just fixing poke-throughs.smiley
