The merchant resource version includes layered Photoshop files and can be used in the creation of texture sets for sale (not as overlays, but incorporated in the textures directly) while the base version is for your own use only (though you can as usual sell the finished renders or animations).
And how does the normal skin overlay work?
I was looking at the product page, and didn't understand it too much
I adds extra details to the colour or displacement of the existing materials, to provide a modified final look - added freckles, or veins, or wrinkles etc.
