HDRI - Gangsta

DPWDPW Posts: 267

Hi All,

I've just purchased the Gangsta HDRI Iray pack and I can't view the image in my viewport so I know where to place models etc. It renders great, but I can't see what I'm about to render, if that makes sense to you?

Any help would be great, thanks.

Have you tried having your viewport set to 'NVidia Iray'?  This gives a preview of a render, and I am 99% sure it shows HDRI bascgrounds!

    Thanks,

I've just tried that and the problem there is I can't move the camera angle where I want it. Like, for example, I can't lower or rise the camera. I have other HDRI's which don't have this problem and you can move the camera anywhere.

Any other thoughts would be appeciated!

    Thanks,

    Dean

what John Alexander sugested is the best way, allows you to modify thescene while viewing it renderedin iray. if it`s too heavy for you you can try doing the same, but on the aux viewport on the side. either one of the ones in the image

it will look like one of those two, depending on which you prefer to use real time rendered. (do not set to render iray both viewports at the same time)

Also if the camera doesnt work, you can create a null and place the camera inside (i believe this could help) or create a new camera.

Sorry for posting 3 times one after the other.

    Hi Cherubit,

Thanks for the input. That's my issue now, positioning the camera with up and down movement. When I move the camera up and down it moves the character up and down while everything else stays static. However, when I move the character left and right it's fine.

I also can't push back from the character in the shot. Never had this before.

    Like, damnnnn.

have you tried creating a null? its the icon to the left of the create a group one. When you place your camera inside the null, you can move the null and all that is inside will move together.

Thank you sooo much for your help! I fiddled around with the settings and found the answer. I then tried the null which worked too! In enviroment,  I had the sphere set to infinate. I changed it to finite, and it worked!!

    Thank you for the help!!!
