Animation renders black

I am trying my hands on animation in DAZ but I run into trouble.
I only have experience with Flash...
When I use Reality it keeps saying " Freeing resources" and nothing happens, even not after 30 mins.
Then I tried 3Delight animation render and all my scenes turn out black, no matter what lightening I throw at the scene.
Any ideas on what I am missing?
It's just a 5 second testscene with 1 figure and no props.

    are you doing video ie avi or an image series?
    I always do image series myself then save to avi in virtualdub
    Daz studio frequently craps up the avi compression codec save

    I do the same as Wendy, It is common practice.
    When DAZ is in that render process, you can check one of the images to see if they turn out well.
    If not you can stop the process.
    Forget Reality for the moment.
