I'm having fun learning to animate in Daz. The time has come for my characters to say something. Any good tutorials on phonemes and lip-sync for Daz? Is there a plugin that helps with this?
Thanks

Lip sync is built into the 32bit version of DAZ Studio. It works okay just from a standard wav file but phonic text will improve the animation a great deal.
Tip: Set up your Ani in 32bit with phonic file if possible and save the Scene file. Open the Scene file in 64bit Daz Studio (my 32 and 64 bit versions share the same content folder) and Render in the 64 Bit version.
No Lip Sync in the 64-bit version? Even the beta?
Why does Mimic work in 64 bit and not lip sync? :/
I don't show a 64-bit Mimic, only a 32-bit version. Although the Windows 32-bit version will run on a 64-bit machine and OS, the Mac version does not. From what I can tell, you have to be running Snow Leopard (10.6) or older to get Mimic Pro 3.1 to work on the Mac. Lip Sync requires Mimic Pro, so I'm trying some work arounds, none of them very pretty at the moment.
I have succeeded in installing Daz 32 for my Mac, with the Lip sync/Mimic functions. I have a test talking head and saved it as a scene. Then I used merge to bring this talking head into my Daz 64 scene. The trick is the head starts talking at frame zero. Is there any way to slide that talking down the timeline so it starts later?
I normally save the LAST Frame before the Lip sync as a Scene file, do the Lip sync in 32 bit and then Render that in 64 bit, then I splice that into the animation file. I do lots of small scenes all spliced together into the big animation.
How did you get Lip Sync/Mimic to work? Mimic won't run on my Mac any more. I'm running a MacBook Pro (2012) and Mavericks (10.9). Every time I attempted to run it, it just gave an error that the app is damaged or incomplete.
I'm not using Mimic but the Default lip sync in DAZ Studio 32bit. I'm on a PC so not sure your issue. If it is failing on your 32Bit DAZ Studio I will get our Mac CV to pop in here and help you solve this.
Nah. I'm good. I can do it without Mimic3. That was my oversight. Mimic still gives more control from what I can tell, but it's restricted to non-genesis characters and I'm trying to move to an all Genesis1/2 setup.
Now, if I can only get rid of the instrumentals in my daughter's song track and get just vocals, I'd be set. Gonna have to redo a live vocals without the instrumentals instead. I've had no luck stripping it out.
