I want to install everything I have purchased on a new computer. Currently I have problemss with the search function being unable to find installed conent. How do I accomplish this so that I will have no trouble accessing any of my purchased products from within DAZ3D?

I'm not  quite sure what you mean, but are you going to use the default locations or custom locations?

The one big frutration I have experienced with Daz3D from the beginning many years ago is finding the content I purchase. This not to point a finger at Daz. It is most likely that I am doing something wrong.

That said, with this new computer I want to start clean. I want to download Daz Studio and all of my content into custom location on a  drive dedicated external hard drive. This way when ever I want to used Daz Studio I will just plug in that drive and everything is there.

    Is this possible? How?

Yes, though DS does keep registry entries, and various settings files of its own, which will be on C: regardless.

Download Install Manager but choose the Work Offline option at launch, so it won't install stuff to the default locations. Click the gear icon to open its settings. In the Downloads tab set the paths for the Package Archive (where it keeps the zips, if you don't delete after install) and Manifests (where it keeps its lists of installed files), then in the Installation tab set the base paths for applications and click + to create a new isntall path, name it, and use the ... button to select the folder, finally set that new location as the Current one at the bottom.

Install DS though DIM, and your content if you want to (or where you need to).

Download http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start (the link is above the box with the script).

Launch DS and drag the script into the Viewport - that will tell DS to use the paths set in DIM.

Got to Edit>Preferences>Content tab and click the Content Directory Manager button. Expand to give the current set and see all its paths. Highlight the Connect Data Directory, then click the Edit button to point that to your new drive (this is used for content you install through DS). Add any othr content directories you want, or delete the defaults, as desired.

    I'm on a Mac. Running 10.14.  I don't have a C Drive.

I don't have everything on my external drive, but I do have several directories on the external.

I downloaded Daz Studio through DIM. You can follow what Richard says. The normal default location for Daz Studio, to the best of my knowledge, on my Mac is /Users/Shared/My DAZ 3D Library.

You can see I've created a path to my directory on my external: /VOLUMES/WORK121018/StudioRuntime/DS Testing/local install using the + (plus sign) and then selected that directory as my Current so that when I install, it downloads and installs to that directory.
